MOTOR VEHICLE LOCK OUTS
The police department will only attempt to unlock vehicles which do not have side impact air bags. All others are required to call a local service station or locksmith of their choice. The police department does not assume any liability for damages caused in our attempt to unlock a motor vehicle, and requires the vehicle owner/operator to sign a waiver indemnifying the Village and the Police Department from any damages.
FINGERPRINTING
The police department will fingerprint residents, and non-residents, for official reasons. Residents are charged $10.00 and non-residents will be charged $25.00 for this service. Residents requesting to have their minor children fingerprinted for identification purposes will not be charged a fee. Please note that we do our fingerprinting in our processing room, and if it is being used for an arrest, we will not allow civilian fingerprints to be taken. Also, it will be your responsibility to forward your fingerprint cards to the proper authority.
FIREARM OWNERS IDENTIFICATION (FOID) CARD APPLICATION
To lawfully own/possess a firearm in the State of Illinois, you must also possess a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) Card. FOID applications are available free of charge at the police department. Please note that possessing a FOID card does not give the owner authorization to carry or use a firearm unlawfully. Illinois is not a concealed carry state.
FIREARM SAFETY
Project Homesafe promotes safe and responsible firearm ownership and storage. Gun locks may be picked up at the police station. These locks are provided fee of charge to the public.
TICKET PAYMENT
Payment for parking violations and local ordinance tickets can be made by mailing in the citation (do not send cash), at the Village Hall during normal business hours or placed in the drop box located outside the Village Hall after hours. Payment can also be made via the e-pay link on the Village website.
Payment for traffic citations must be made through the McHenry County Clerk of the Circuit Court in Woodstock, Illinois. Please follow the instructions received with the citation for traffic violations.
POLICE TOWED VEHICLES
