The CBD contains a mix of convenience and specialty retail/service establishments such as restaurants, offices, upholstery, clothing shops and gas and retail sales stores. The development of the Stone Hill Shopping Center created a second major business area at the northwest corner of State Route 22 and U.S. Route 14. Fox River Grove hosts several annual
events each year. Our Fireworks Celebration (usually the Saturday after
the 4th of July) and FoxFest (September) are great events with the small
town flavor of the close knit community that is Fox River Grove. Several different
community organizations work together to bring food, drink, music and games
to our local residents.
Fox River Grove is also the home of the semi-annual Norge Ski Jump, which
attracts up to 10,000 visitors to the 120-foot Olympic regulation tower each
year. The Fox River Grove Lion's Club hosts an Annual Craft Show in July.
The Fox River Grove Harbor Team along with The FRG Lions sponsors a Venetian
Night Boat Parade in August. The Recreation Council also hosts an All
Star Baseball Day, a Road Rally, 5K Run, and a Haunted
House. The Fox River Grove Fire District hosts their annual Water Fights
in July.
Windy City Balloon Port, located within the Village limits, is the only hot air balloon port in the northwest suburbs. Colorful hot air balloons are common sights in the Fox River Grove skies.
